When transplanting plants in the landscape, remove the soil from the planting hole and amend it with a high-quality compost, peat moss or potting soil. Use this blend to backfill the planting hole. Good soil amendments improve the performance of all landscape plants regardless of your soil quality and maintenance schedule.
