PRO-MIX BK55 is a medium-weight growing medium designed for the cultivation of long-term greenhouse crops and perennials grown outdoors. The combination of processed southern pine bark, sphagnum peat moss and perlite makes for a good air/water balance. The high percent of bark adds weight, which is perfect for growers looking for container stability.

PRO-MIX BK55 contains 55% processed bark, Canadian Sphagnum peat moss and perlite and is slightly heavier and has a coarser texture, suitable for large greenhouse containers, garden mums and perennials grown outdoors.
Our PRO-MIX peat-bark based blends contain various amounts of partially composted and aged southern pine bark to provide low water retention, high drainage, good air porosity and added bulk density for container stability.

PROCESSED SOUTHERN PINE BARK (55%)

PRO-MIX BK25, BK55 and NCX are formulated with processed, aged yellow pine bark from the forests of the mid-Atlantic region of the US. This pine bark is screened, partially composted and aged to produce a coarse base ingredient for blending PRO-MIX growing media to add bulk density, drainage and air-porosity.

SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS (25-35%)

Canadian Sphagnum peat moss is a natural, organic matter that comes from a peat bog. This primary resource is carefully harvested by vacuum harvesters. Peat moss comes in various fibrosity and levels of decomposition. Once carefully graded, peat moss assures that qualities of each grade are optimized for based on grower and uses for a final product reaching high quality requirements.

PERLITE

Perlite is an alumino-silicate ore of volcanic origin. The raw ore is crushed, graded and screened in various particle sizes. Perlite has a high total-porosity and improves drainage and air porosity.

Used to adjust pH to optimum range. Also a source of Calcium and Magnesium.

?
A wetting agent is a substance that reduces the surface tension of water, allowing water to penetrate and uniformly wet growing media.

PTB297 Technology, Glomus intraradices - Mycorrhizae are beneficial associations between a mycorrhizal fungus and roots, creating a network of filaments that explores the soil and access more nutrients and water, and transfer them to the plant.
