Premier Tech Horticulture has been working with natural microorganisms that can be incorporated into the growing medium to improve crop production for more than 30 years.

One of our most popular active ingredients is a combination of our popular MYCORRHIZAE - PTB297 Technology and our BIOFUNGICIDE* (Bacillus pumilus).

We are pleased to announce that the combination of these two active ingredients is now available in our PRO-MIX HPCC BIOSTIMULANT / BIOFUNGICIDE* + MYCORRHIZAE product.

How chunk coir can help you?

PRO-MIX HPCC, which is an acronym for High Porosity – Chunk Coir, is a peat-chunk coir based product that is ideal for larger potted crops (4 inch - 10 cm or larger), hanging baskets and outdoor containers where higher water holding capacity is desired without sacrificing high air porosity as is characteristic of our PRO-MIX HP. The secret is the chunk coir.

Chunk coir is a small coir nugget that retains water between its fibers and releases it back to the growing medium as the plant uses the water. Also larger chunks produce big pores that hold air and not water, increasing total air porosity.

Advantages for Professional Growers

In addition to the physical benefits of the PRO-MIX HPCC, the MYCORRHIZAE is a natural fungus that colonizes the root system of a plant and then grows out beyond the roots to acquire nutrients and water where the plant roots are not present.

This is turn decreases nutrition and water stress on the plant, especially if plants do not receive adequate fertilizer and water, helping plants to continuously grow at their optimum rate. In turn, this can result in bigger plants, increase fruit and flower production, reduced nutrient deficiency symptoms and overall better plant health.

Help against root-rot pathogens

The BIOFUNGICIDE* is a natural bacterium that colonizes the roots and produces an antibiotic which suppresses the root-rot pathogens, Fusarium, Pythium and Rhizoctonia. The grower can reduce the number of fungicide drenches required to control root disease and in turn, there is less shrinkage in the crop due to loss from root disease.

INGREDIENTS:

• Canadian Sphagnum peat moss (65-75%)
• Chunk Coir -  increases water holding capacity and air porosity, improves long-term wettability and reduces long term compaction.
• Perlite (horticultural grade)  -  improves air porosity
• Dolomitic and calcitic limestone -  for initial pH adjustment (5.4-5.8)
• Starter fertilizer charge -  provides feed for one week
• Wetting agent
