Advice from our specialist

What is the difference between PRO-MIX HP and PRO-MIX HPCC?

PRO-MIX HP contains a base of sphagnum peat moss and a high percentage of perlite. PRO-MIX HP-CC contains sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir and a lesser amount of perlite than HP.  PRO-MIX HP holds less water than HP-CC, therefore it will dry out faster.

What is in PRO-MIX HPCC?

PRO-MIX HPCC is a High Porosity – Chunk Coir growing medium that contains a base of sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir and perlite. It ideal for large potted crops (4 inch - 10 cm or larger), hanging baskets and large containers when high water holding capacity is desired without sacrificing high air porosity.

Is PRO-MIX HPCC soil or coco?

PRO-MIX HPCC MYCORRHIZAE is a peat/chunk coir/perlite based 'soilless' growing medium. It contains 65-75% sphagnum peat moss, chunk coir, perlite, limestone, starter nutrient charge, wetting agent and MYCORRHIZAETM.

Ingredients

  • SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS (65-75%) ?

Canadian Sphagnum peat moss is a natural, organic matter that comes from a peat bog. This primary resource is carefully harvested by vacuum harvesters. Peat moss comes in various fibrosity and levels of decomposition. Once carefully graded, peat moss assures that qualities of each grade are optimized for based on grower and uses for a final product reaching high quality requirements.

  • CHUNK COIR ?

Coir is a natural product which comes from the exterior envelop of an aged coco fruit. We have carefully selected a material providing the 3 important following qualities for a high-quality professional growing medium:

    • Physical (particles type and size)
    • Chemical (washed material with a very low salinity level)
    • Microbiological (exempt from any pathogens)
  • PERLITE ?

Perlite is an alumino-silicate ore of volcanic origin. The raw ore is crushed, graded and screened in various particle sizes. Perlite has a high total-porosity and improves drainage and air porosity.

  • LIMESTONE ?

Used to adjust pH to optimum range. Also a source of Calcium and Magnesium.

  • WETTING AGENT ?

A wetting agent is a substance that reduces the surface tension of water, allowing water to penetrate and uniformly wet growing media.

  • MYCORRHIZAE - PTB297 TECHNOLOGY ?

PTB297 Technology, Glomus intraradices - Mycorrhizae are beneficial associations between a mycorrhizal fungus and roots, creating a network of filaments that explores the soil and access more nutrients and water, and transfer them to the plant.
